Cyprus on Wednesday joined the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s Global Digital Certification Network.
In doing so, Cyprus is just the sixth European country to join the network.
The health ministry said the joining of the network comes “following coordinated actions” of various related stakeholders.
The ministry said the Global Digital Certification Network “offers the digital infrastructure for cross-border verification of health documents, thereby serving the development of digital products to enhance the preparation for pandemics and to provide better health for all.”
“The network could be used in the future to support additional eventualities, such as the international digital vaccination certificate, cross-border prescription verification, cross-border exchange of patient data, and cross-border certification,” they added.
