Christodoulides challenges anyone with bribery evidence to come forward regarding financing video

President Nikos Christodoulides has publicly challenged anyone with evidence of bribery to come forward to state authorities in his first statements about a controversial video regarding corruption at the Presidential Palace, before the opening ceremony of a care home in Larnaca.

“I want to publicly call on anyone who has evidence of direct or indirect bribery during my election campaign, or during my time as President of the Republic, to submit it immediately to the state authorities,” Christodoulides said.

The president added that he has “repeated many times” that he will not give anyone the right to accuse him of corruption matters.

Christodoulides then said the effort to attract investments that he started from day one will continue because it benefits the country, adding he is pleased this effort is bringing results.

“We saw today the results of my visit to the United States, with the announcement of American investments in our country,” he said.

The president added that companies coming to Cyprus must also contribute socially through corporate social responsibility. “For the state, I want to repeat, for the state – and they do this in the sectors of health, the welfare state, defence and many other sectors,” he said.
