Firefighters discovered a charred body inside a rooftop storage unit in Nicosia shortly after midnight today.
Police rushed to the apartment block following reports of a fire breaking out in the storage area. Officers and crews from the Fire Service tackled the flames, only to find the remains inside the structure once the fire was extinguished.
Nicosia CID investigators return to the scene today to spearhead the investigation. A formal post-mortem examination will take place at a later date to identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
