Celestyal pulls all April cruises over Iran war

Celestyal, a member of the Cyprus-based travel and tourism group Louis plc, has cancelled all its April 2026 sailings after its two ships became stranded in the Arabian Gulf due to the ongoing wars in the Middle East, with both vessels waiting for conditions to allow a safe return to the Mediterranean.

Celestyal Discovery is currently docked in Dubai and Celestyal Journey in Doha. All guests and non-operational crew have been disembarked from both vessels, which remain fully operational. Their departure from the region will take place in line with safety guidance from the relevant authorities.

The next scheduled departures are Celestyal Discovery on 1 May 2026, operating a three-night Iconic Greek Islands itinerary, and Celestyal Journey on 2 May 2026, operating a seven-night Heavenly Greece, Italy and Croatia sailing.

“Our priority remains the safety and confidence of our guests, crew and partners,” said Lee Haslett, Chief Commercial Officer at Celestyal. “While we know this will be disappointing, taking this decision now provides greater clarity and flexibility for those affected. Our teams are working closely with guests and travel partners to support rebooking options and ensure a smooth transition, and we remain focused on returning to service in the Mediterranean as soon as it is safe to do so.”

All affected guests have been offered a full refund or a future cruise credit. Further information is available at celestyal.com or by calling 211 1995176.
