The British Bases Administration has lifted a security alert at Akrotiri after ordering residents to remain indoors earlier on Thursday.
The alert had instructed residents to stay away from windows and take cover behind or beneath solid furniture until further notice. In a follow-up message, the British Bases Administration said the incident had concluded and that restrictions on movement had been removed.
No details of the nature of the threat were made public.
