Bottleneck at Ayios Dometios checkpoint creates kilometre-long vehicle tailbacks

Heavy congestion has formed at the Ayios Dometios (Kermiya) crossing point in Nicosia, where cars face kilometre-long queues.

Traffic has backed up to the Kermiya roundabout, creating significant delays for people crossing between the two sides.

Turkish Cypriots wishing to cross to the government-controlled areas reported being stuck in traffic for more than two hours.
