Arsonists targeted a 20-year-old woman’s car in Nicosia in the early hours of New Year’s Day. Police received reports of the blaze at approximately 2:00 a.m. while the vehicle was parked directly outside the owner’s home.
Officers and crews from the Fire Service rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. By the time they arrived, residents of the house had already managed to extinguish the flames.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage. Following a forensic examination later today, investigators confirmed the fire was set maliciously. Nicosia CID is currently leading the investigation to identify the perpetrators.
