Air links restored at Cyprus airports as major carriers resume flights

Air links between Cyprus and Europe have been restored after several carriers suspended services due to the conflict in the Middle East, the operator of Larnaca and Paphos airports said on Monday.

Hermes Airports said airlines of the Lufthansa Group — Lufthansa, Austrian, Edelweiss and Eurowings — along with British Airways, easyJet and Transavia had resumed flights to and from both airports in recent days. Emirates also resumed its daily Larnaca–Dubai route as of Saturday.

On Monday, 102 flights were scheduled at Larnaca Airport and 36 at Paphos Airport, based on airline schedules at the time of the announcement.

Larnaca now offers direct connections to the United Kingdom (Wizz Air, British Airways, easyJet), Greece (Aegean, Sky Express, Cyprus Airways, Wizz Air), Germany (easyJet, Eurowings, Lufthansa), the Netherlands (easyJet, Transavia), Austria (Ryanair, Austrian Airlines), Poland (LOT, Wizz Air), Switzerland (easyJet, Edelweiss), France (Cyprus Airways), Italy (Wizz Air, Cyprus Airways), Spain (Wizz Air), Belgium (Aegean), Serbia (Air Serbia, Wizz Air), Romania (Wizz Air), Bulgaria (Wizz Air), Hungary (Wizz Air), Slovakia (Wizz Air), Czech Republic (Wizz Air), Latvia (Air Baltic), Lithuania (Wizz Air), Moldova (Wizz Air), North Macedonia (Wizz Air), Georgia (Georgian Airlines, Wizz Air), Armenia (Wizz Air, FLYONE), Denmark (SAS), Norway (Norwegian), Finland and Sweden (Sunclass Airlines), Egypt (EgyptAir), Lebanon (Middle East Airlines), Jordan (Royal Jordanian) and the United Arab Emirates (Emirates).

Paphos is served by Ryanair to and from the United Kingdom, Greece, Germany, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Ireland and France, with Jet2, British Airways and easyJet also operating UK routes and Wizz Air serving Poland.

Flights to and from Israel, Qatar, Bahrain and Lebanon remain cancelled. Hermes Airports advised affected passengers to check the websites of their respective airlines or contact their travel agent for information and rebooking.
