In celebration of the Association’s 20-year anniversary, the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) is organising a Street Party with various fun activities for children and adults.
The 20-year milestone is jointly celebrated with the International Day of Peace, always in collaboration with the Home for Cooperation.
The event will take place on 21 September at the Home for Cooperation, the hub of intercommunal collaboration and peacebuilding on the island, to pay homage to AHDR’s 20 years of tirelessly working towards peace, as we choose not to lose hope and to keep on… imagining.
The event will include art activities for children by artists Lara Sophie Benjamin and Duygu Meren, a creative writing workshop for adults by Nicoletta Demetriou (The Writing Room), as well as a guided walk around Nicosia by Loizos Kapsalis and Hayat Sebep.
In the framework of the event, the AHDR will also host a ‘Teaching for Peace’ Awards Ceremony, during which the organisation will honour educators who have contributed towards nurturing dialogue and promoting historical understanding on the island.
At the party which will follow, delicious food from our friends from Omni Honest Food, and refreshing drinks from The Home Cafe will be offered while the groovy tunes by the legendary Nostalgia Parties, will make you remember the moves of Macarena in no time.
