Aglantzia launches ‘Be a Santa’ campaign to bring Christmas gifts to 132 children

Aglantzia Municipality has launched its second annual “Be a Santa” campaign, aiming to deliver Christmas gifts to 132 children from disadvantaged families.

Deputy Mayor Andreas Konstantinou announced the initiative, which runs from 15 December until 22 December, calling on residents to ensure children with fewer opportunities receive presents this Christmas.

The municipality identified 132 children from poor families and is inviting citizens to participate by calling 22797511 to donate a gift to a child in need.

Konstantinou said that without the campaign, the 132 children in Aglantzia would not receive visits from Santa Claus. The municipality is implementing the initiative in cooperation with ACS courier service.

Residents wishing to help can become Santa for a child by calling 22797511, where they will receive the child’s first name, age and address. Donors then prepare a gift and deliver it to ACS Courier in Platy, writing the child’s details on the package.

The gifts will be delivered to the 132 children’s homes on Christmas Eve.

“Let’s all help so the Christmas spirit enters every home and lights up our hearts,” Konstantinou said. “The Be a Santa campaign is our opportunity to discover the true meaning of Christmas”.

In a social media post, the deputy mayor wrote that participants calling between 15 December and 22 December will be given a child’s age and gender to prepare their “package of love”.

The packages must be delivered to ACS Courier Cyprus in Platy for distribution by Santa by Christmas Eve.
