After Pyla, Kato Pyrgos calls for road to end its isolation

The village of Kato Pyrgos on Tuesday called for a road to connect it with Mosfili and the rest of the Paphos district beyond to be built through the north’s exclave of Kokkina.

They said such a road could be constructed “in accordance with the consensus reached for Pyla”, where a mutual understanding was reached earlier this month to connect the buffer zone village with Arsos in the north with a new road.

Kato Pyrgos Mukhtar Nikos Kleanthous told the Cyprus News Agency “these roads … will decimate travelling distance and make the region independent.”

He added, “they will also contribute to the development of the region, thus achieving in the best possible way the goals we have set in cooperation with the government.”

He called on President Nikos Christodoulides to “contribute to this end”.
