Cyprus FM offers Cypriot olive tree to Worldwide Olive Council in Madrid

Cyprus International Affairs Minister, Nikos Christodoulides, who’s escorting Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades to Spain, visited on Thursday the seat of the Worldwide Olive Council, in Madrid, on the invitation of the Council’s Government Director, Abdellatif Ghedira.

In response to a presidency press launch, a group of olive timber from varied member states of the organisation are planted within the courtyard of the Council’s seat. Since Cyprus’s olive tree was lacking, the International Minister handed over formally, throughout a particular ceremony, a Cypriot olive tree, that shall be planted within the Council`s courtyard.

Christodoulides, who was welcomed by the Government Director of the Council, famous that the emblematic olive tree constitutes a hyperlink for all of the Mediterranean nations and that the custom of the olive tree manufacturing in Cyprus continues to be pivotal till immediately.
