Give Your Child the Gift of a World-Class Education at The Grammar Junior School
At The Grammar Junior School in Nicosia, we believe that every child matters. We offer a holistic education that combines strong academic foundations with character development, creativity, and real-world skills. Our aim is to nurture confident, curious learners who grow into kind, responsible, and active global citizens.
We are proud to provide a warm and welcoming school environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported every day. Our close-knit school community allows each child to be known as an individual and encouraged to reach their full potential.
A Nurturing Environment for Growth
Set within the peaceful countryside, our school campus offers a calm and secure learning environment away from the noise and distractions of city life. The natural surroundings, combined with the care and dedication of our teaching staff, create the ideal setting for both academic and emotional development. For families’ convenience and peace of mind, we also offer a safe and reliable bus service.

A Structured and Caring School Day
Each school day is carefully planned to provide balance, routine, and stability. Lessons are thoughtfully structured to keep students engaged while allowing time for play, movement, and social interaction.
Throughout the day, students enjoy scheduled break times that are closely supervised by staff. During these breaks, children are encouraged to participate in organised group games and activities that promote teamwork, positive competition, communication, and friendship building. Student wellbeing and safety are always a priority, both inside and outside the classroom.

A Balanced and Enriching Curriculum
Our daily timetable blends academic learning with practical and life skills, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. Greek and English are included in the timetable every day, supporting bilingual development and strong communication skills.
For core subjects, the Grammar Junior School follows the Pearson iPrimary International curriculum, providing a high-quality, internationally recognised framework that promotes deep understanding, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
Greek is taught in line with the Cyprus Ministry of Education curriculum, carefully adapted to meet the needs, abilities, and language development of our students. This approach ensures strong foundations in Greek while supporting each child’s individual learning journey.
Across the weekly programme, students take part in Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Physical Education, STEM, Computing, Art, and Global Citizenship. This broad curriculum encourages creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and a genuine love of learning.
Assemblies and Whole-School Experiences
Throughout the year, students come together for school assemblies and themed activities that promote awareness, values, and community spirit. These include initiatives such as Friendship Week, World Animal Day, and other events that encourage empathy, responsibility, and respect for others and the world around them.
Learning Spaces That Support Growth
Our campus offers welcoming, well-maintained learning spaces designed to support both academic learning and student wellbeing. Bright classrooms, a well-stocked library, an innovation lab, a computer room, Physical Education courts, playground equipment, a swimming pool, and spacious outdoor areas provide students with the space they need to learn, create, move, and thrive.
Embracing Technology for the Future
Technology is thoughtfully integrated into learning across the school. Our computer lab provides access to modern tools and resources, with laptops available for student use. In Classes 5 and 6, students also participate in a Bring Your Own Device tablet programme, helping them develop responsible digital skills and confidence with technology in preparation for future academic pathways.
Innovation Through STEM Learning
Our STEM Innovation Laboratory encourages hands-on exploration and problem solving. Using interactive tools such as Lego robotics, Pro-bots, Bee-bots, and Blue-bots, students work collaboratively to develop creativity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific concepts in an engaging and practical way.
Enriching Extracurricular Opportunities
Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of extracurricular experiences that enrich school life and support personal development. These include the option to join the school’s Extended Day Programme, which offers choir, robotics, drama, photography, and other enrichment activities.
Students also participate in interschool sporting events, developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while representing the Grammar Junior School. Throughout the year, the whole school comes together for major community events such as the annual school play and cultural evening, where students proudly showcase their talents and celebrate creativity, diversity, and collaboration.
Families may also choose for their child to attend homework assistance sessions or private one-to-one academic support, offered as optional services to support individual learning needs.
A Strong Partnership with Families
We value open and honest communication with parents and see families as essential partners in a child’s education. Class websites provide daily homework updates, while regular parent-teacher meetings and ongoing communication through email, phone, and homework books ensure parents are always informed. Our active Parents Teachers Association further strengthens the sense of community within the school.
