Police arrest three more suspects in Paphos TikTok murder investigation

Detectives in Paphos have arrested three more men as they piece together the events of a fatal confrontation in Peyia that reportedly began with a series of insults traded on TikTok.

The arrests of the three suspects, aged 34, 31, and 25, come as police focus on the passengers who were inside a vehicle during a late-night clash that left a 41-year-old man dead.

The investigation, which the Paphos District Court is now treating as a case of premeditated murder, stems from a violent encounter shortly before midnight on Sunday. According to Assistant Police Director Michalis Nicolaou, a group of five people—including one woman—had driven from Limassol to the Peyia district specifically to settle a personal dispute with a 29-year-old relative. Police sources suggest the meeting was brokered to resolve a brewing feud over social media posts that had turned personal and vitriolic.

What was intended as a meeting to “clear the air” turned lethal when the 29-year-old suspect allegedly rammed his car into a 30-year-old man from the Limassol group before turning a knife on his own uncle. The victim was rushed to Paphos General Hospital with a knife wound to the abdomen but died four hours later. The younger man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 29-year-old suspect, who is currently being held on an eight-day remand, has reportedly admitted to the stabbing but told investigators he never intended to kill his uncle.

A post-mortem is being carried out at 10:00 this morning at Nicosia General Hospital to provide a definitive cause of death. Meanwhile, officers are combing through digital data from the TikTok accounts involved.
