President to Thessaloniki to deal with occasion for Cyprus’ participation in Greek Battle of Independence

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades travels to Thessaloniki to deal with an occasion for Cyprus’ participation within the Greek Battle of Independence, organized by the Aristotle College of Thessaloniki, on Monday.

Earlier he will likely be obtained by the mayor of the town, Konstantinos Zervas, on the City Corridor.

A press launch by the Presidency says that the President on Tuesday will attend the mass to happen at Agios Demetrios Church, the patron Saint of the town, and on the event of the liberation of Thessaloniki from the Ottomans in 1912. Greek President Katerina Sakelaropoulou may even be current on the mass.

On Tuesday afternoon the President will attend the official celebrations on the Aristotle College for the liberation of the town from the Ottoman yoke and for the Greek army accomplishment throughout the 1940 Greco-Italian Battle.

Authorities Spokesman Marios Pelekanos, Ambassador of Cyprus Kyriakos Kenevezos and Basic Consul Spyros Miltiades will accompany the President to his journey.
