The Police arrested a 45-year-old man in Paphos today to facilitate the investigations on an ongoing case of written threats, sending abusive and threatening messages, and causing actual bodily harm.
According to the Assistant Police Operations Director of Paphos Michael Nicolaou, a complaint was made yesterday by a resident of Cyprus that she maintained a casual relationship with a 45-year-old man with whom she had been experiencing various problems and wishes to break off their relationship permanently.
As reported by the complainant at times over the past few months the 45-year-old allegedly on some occasions attacked her and caused her actual bodily harm and further harassed her systematically with phone calls and messages.
In some cases, the messages were threatening to cause her death.
The 45-year-old man was arrested today and is being questioned while investigations into the case continue.
