Research foundation launches €600K support scheme for businesses

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) this week announced that it has launched its CO-DEVELOP-REPowerEU programme, offering businesses a chance to secure €600,000 in funding for collaborative ventures with research organisations.

This initiative aims to foster innovative solutions to address various energy challenges.

The programme, overseen by the RIF, targets several thematic areas, including climate change, carbon emissions reduction, integration of renewable energy technologies into energy systems, cost reduction of technologies, as well as resilience and security of energy systems.

It also encompasses energy efficiency in industries, energy storage technologies, renewable fuels, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and Net Zero Energy Systems.

Proposal submissions are facilitated via the IRIS portal, with the deadline set for February 29, 2024.

The General Director of the Foundation Theodoros Loukaidis, highlighted that “this programme, along with other funding initiatives like ‘Research in Enterprises’ and ‘PhD in Industry,’ contributes to accelerating the green transition and encourages investments in the critical energy sector”.

“Our country’s research organisations possess significant expertise, which businesses can effectively harness, enhancing their competitiveness and presenting solutions to significant societal needs and challenges,” he added.

It has been noted that selected entities receiving funding will have automatic access to the foundation’s free innovation support services and knowledge transfer tools.
