Higher prices are recorded in many sectors in Cyprus – including those for repair and maintenance of cars which have also become more and more expensive.
Cyprus’ Statistical Service data released last week shows that tire prices rose by 5.1% in June on a year-on-year basis compared to 7.3% last year and 0.4% in 2021 compared to 2020.
Prices of spare parts rose by 5.2% in June on a yearly basis compared to 9.4% last year and 1.3% in 2021.
Car oil prices rose by 20.2% in June compared to a 10.1% year-on-year rise and 0.3% in 2021.
Overall, prices in auto maintenance and repair rose by 5.9% in June on a year-to-year basis compared to 3.1% in 2022 and 4.8% in 2021.
Other automotive-related services saw a 0.7% drop in prices, the same as in 2022, compared to 1.9% in 2021. Prices for garage and car park rentals rose by 0.2% in June on a year-to-year basis compared to 14.2% last year.
