A 75-year-old woman was found unconscious in a swimming pool in Polis on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, the woman was found by her husband around at 4pm at a private villa pool, which the couple had rented for a holiday.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The exact cause of death is to be investigated with an autopsy to be scheduled at a later stage.
The Polis Chrysochous police station is investigating the case.
