Establishment in Nicosia gets 4,000 euro fine for breach of Covid measures

A cafeteria owner in Nicosia was slapped with a €4,000 fine after the employee in charge of SafePass checks was not wearing a coronavirus protective mask himself, police said on Thursday.

Another cafeteria employee, also in Nicosia, was fined €500 for not having a SafePass.

All in all, police fined 28 citizens and four establishments all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for breach of protective measures aiming to curb the virus.

The Force had carried out a total of 4,045 inspections island-wide.

One of the violations was recorded at Larnaca Airport where an individual refused to wear a face mask.
