The Department of Environment greenlighted the construction of a LIDL supermarket in Ayios Dometios, Nicosia.
The project worth 6 million euros will be built on Kyriacou Matsi avenue in the Ayios Georgios district.
The supermarket will contain a 1,576 square metre space for commercial purposes, as well as a 472 square metre storage space, among others.
It will also include 94 parking slots.
The supermarket will be constructed on two adjoining plots with a total square footage area of 6,140 square metres.
The two residences standing on the plots will be demolished and a number of olive trees and cypresses will be cut down, the Environment Department notes.
This will be the 21st LIDL store in Cyprus.
