A 25-year-old man, identified as Tsamisia Christos Tsangarrides from Pallouriotissa, was killed in a road collision in Nicosia on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Larnacos Avenue in Aglantzia. According to investigations, a motorcycle driven by a 19-year-old collided with the motorcycle operated by the 25-year-old under circumstances currently being examined.
Following the collision, both motorcycles overturned. The 25-year-old’s motorcycle subsequently struck a parked vehicle. Both riders were transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors confirmed the death of the 25-year-old. The 19-year-old received first aid and was later discharged.
The 19-year-old underwent preliminary alcohol and drug tests, both of which returned zero readings. However, a judicial warrant was issued against him, and he has been arrested and detained to facilitate further inquiries.
The Nicosia Traffic Department is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fatal crash.
