Police proceeded yesterday with the arrest of a 21-year-old man to facilitate ongoing investigations into drug and arson cases committed in Nicosia last February and July, respectively.
The suspect had been previously apprehended in Greece under a European arrest warrant. He was transported back to Cyprus yesterday and was immediately taken into custody upon arrival.
According to police reports, the arrest is linked to an investigation into an arson case committed in July 2025 and a drug-related offence committed in February 2025.
Following this latest arrest, the total number of individuals detained in connection with these two cases has reached six. The investigation is being handled by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) and the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
