Tourism revenues approached €3 billion during the period from January to November 2023, recording a 22.5% increase on an annual basis, surpassing even the revenues for the entire year of 2019 (€2.68 billion), the record year for Cypriot tourism.
Specifically, according to data released today by the Statistical Service, tourism revenues for the eleven months of 2023 amounted to €2,916.3 million compared to €2,381.6 million for the same period in 2022, marking a 22.5% increase.
Revenues for the entire year of 2019 were €2,683 million.
Moreover, in November, tourism revenues amounted to €113.7 million compared to €96.4 million in the same month of the previous year, marking a 17.9% increase.
The per capita expenditure of tourists in November 2023 was €712.63 compared to €643.38 in November 2022, marking a 10.8% increase.
British tourists (the largest tourist market with 26.8% of total tourists in November 2023) spent an average of €71.75 per day, while Polish tourists (the second-largest tourist market for the specific month with 11.8% of the total) spent an average of €81.20.
Higher expenditure was recorded by tourists from Germany (the third-largest market with 10.0%), who spent €103.24 per day.
